Christina Covington, MSED, LMHC

“One of the most powerful aspects of this work is to be truly seen and heard, to be able to share the experience of hardship and suffering with another being and be met with empathy, understanding, and acceptance. Through fostering a safe and non-judgmental environment, the therapeutic relationship is built, and the healing process begins. I work to help patients return to themselves through mending the relationship to self, gaining insight along the way into the resources and tools that will adaptively serve them in the healing journey.”

Christina is a Mental Health Counselor at the Zirinsky Family Center for Bipolar Disorder. She holds a master’s degree of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. Christina is a relationally focused, trauma-informed clinician who specializes in mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use disorders, and interpersonal difficulties. Christina’s clinical approach is eclectic in nature to meet the specific needs of each patient. She draws from her training as a yoga instructor to integrate mindfulness and somatic techniques to facilitate a mind-body approach to healing.
