Adiba Anam, MD

“Through studying psychology and creative writing, I've come to appreciate the power of storytelling in understanding behavioral health issues. I am committed to incorporating this narrative-centered approach into my practice. As a psychiatrist, I believe in the power of sincere,
collaborative care, tailored to each person's unique needs. By integrating empathy,evidence-based practices, and the psychodynamic frame, I strive to empower my patients to navigate their challenges and achieve meaningful, sustainable wellness.”

Dr. Anam is a general psychiatrist located in New York City. Dr. Anam studied Biology and
Psychology at CUNY City College of New York. She obtained her MPH from SUNY Downstate
School of Public Health and her MD from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr.
Anam’s clinical interests are in cultural psychiatry, mood disorders, and psychotic-spectrum
illnesses. In addition to clinical care, Dr. Anam values quality improvement initiatives as
demonstrated by her membership in the Root Cause Analysis and Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion committees at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Anam has presented on cultural psychiatry
and psychopharmacology at national conferences, such as APA and NEI.
